Can I use it on high-pile, plush area rugs and carpets?
Not really. The carpet tool that comes with this model (Turbo brush STB305-3) is not as powerful as an electric powerhead. The advantage is that it is a very lightweight and easy floor head to use, but it is best suited for lower-pile carpets and rugs.
Can it handle pet hair?
It can. The TurboTeQ brush is designed specifically for removing pet hair from short-pile carpets. If you have high shedding pets, and especially lots of pet hair on thicker carpets, consider getting a Miele that comes with an electric powerhead.
